Quilting Tips

Quilt Batting

Batting can present a problem when making a miniature quilt. If you are going to use your quilt in a doll house, you probably do not need any batting. Some people suggest using a bit of flannel instead of batting but flannel is too heavy for a really small quilt. Instead try these suggestions:

1. Rip regular batting in half, making two layers out of one.

2. Use the thin batting only on the portion of the quilt that covers the top of the bed. That way the quilt will curve over the edges of the little bed and look more like a real quilt. Of course you can use batting for the whole quilt, it just depends on how you will use it. If you are going to enter the quilt in a show, you will need to use batting for the whole quilt, just as you would for a full size quilt.

Custom Templates

With our Laser Engraver, we can cut acrylic plastic templates in most any size or complexity. We also cut paper, tagboard, milar (no-melt), fabric, and cardboard, as well as engrave lines or artwork on these media.
